At TU Dresden, you can choose from 119 degree programs and complete your studies with a Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, Diplom, State Examination or, in some cases, an international double degree.
All study programs are regularly reviewed for quality and developed in a continuous improvement process.

At TU Dresden, cooperation is a top priority: between study programs, with external partners, and international academics. Students are always involved, which is particularly evident in the high practical relevance of our courses.

In addition, TU Dresden is always there for you with many counseling and support services. This allows you to tailor your studies to your individual situation.

TU Dresden is also at the forefront when it comes to research and innovation. Since 2012, it has been one of the eleven German Universities of Excellence. The three clusters of excellence focus on tactile internet with human-machine interaction (CeTI), quantum technologies (ct.qmat) and the physics of life (PoL).

TU Dresden is part of the research alliance DRESDEN-concept e. V. This means that you also benefit from networking with institutes of the Max Planck Society, institutions of the Leibniz Association and institutes of the Fraunhofer Society, institutions of the Helmholtz Association as well as cultural institutions and other partners.

Lively Campus

Small cafés, open spaces, student gardens, and a friendly atmosphere — that's the TU Dresden campus. You can travel comfortably and free of charge by bus and train between the individual locations (including the Johannstadt, Tharandt and Zittau).

Those looking for quiet and collected knowledge will find their place at the Saxon State Library - Saxon State and University Library Dresden (SLUB). It is one of the largest and most efficient academic libraries in Germany.

Comfort food for calming nerves: a wide selection of tasty treats at reasonable student prices is available at the 11 refectories and 7 cafeterias of the Studentenwerk Dresden [student union].

If you want to clear your head from the daily grind of studying, you can sign up for a course in one of the more than 50 sports at the Dresden University Sports Center, learn foreign languages, or volunteer at one of nearly 100 student clubs and organizations.

University City Dresden

Dresden is considered one of the best cities to live in Germany and is not called the 'Florence on the Elbe' for nothing. The comparatively low rents and cost of living also contribute to this. Students can find affordable housing both at the Studentenwerk Dresden [student union] and on the open housing market.

Dresden is known for its diverse cultural offerings. Visits to cabarets, trendy pubs, museums, theaters, opera and concert halls, cinemas, or music festivals are just as much a possibility as activities in the many sports facilities or the surrounding nature of the Elbe landscape, the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, and the Erzgebirge/Ore Mountains. Incidentally, Dresden is considered the unofficial capital of student clubs, and the trendy Neustadt district ensures an exciting nightlife. If you want to get out of Dresden, Berlin, Prague, Leipzig, and Wroclaw are easy to reach.

Families are supported by many services in Dresden. This family-friendly attitude also continues at TU Dresden. As a certified family-friendly university, it strives to offer a family-friendly infrastructure. The two-day care centers of the student union help to balance studies and family.
